Noel Gallagher has released the first “High Flying Birds” B-side. The track, “The Good Rebel,” will be released alongside “The Death of You and Me” when that single drops August 21 digitally and August 22 on CD and vinyl. The full album will be out October 17 in the UK, Europe and Latin America, and November 8 in the US.
“The Good Rebel,” which is not on the “High Flying Birds” album, is a pretty basic mid-tempo pop-rock track. There’s a definite influence from all those years in Oasis, but it’s pretty clear Noel is trying to do his own thing. It’s a little sweeter and more refined than his old band, but still rocks pretty hard, closing with a short, slick guitar solo.
