David Walliams' pals celebrate his 40th birthday

NOEL Gallagher brought a bit of rock n' roll edge to David Walliams' 40th birthday last night.

Looking dapper in a brown jacket and faded jeans - he showed no signs of worry over the legal battle he now faces with his brother.

Liam has launched a High Court lawsuit against his sibling - branding him a liar.

He issued a libel writ over Noel's claim an Oasis festival gig was axed because the singer was hungover.

And Noel's wife Sara MacDonald was reliably stunning in a leopard-print number with black accessories.

Comedian Walliams hosted the celebrations at posh restaurant Scott's in London.

His wife, model Lara Stone, looked fantastic in floor length printed frock.

The couple have just returned from a break in St. Tropez.

The pair - who got married in May 2010 - looked loved-up as Walliams grabbed Lara's bum as he stole a kiss, flashed his bum and grabbed her boobs.

Take That star Gary Barlow also attended the party. He made his debut as a judge on the X Factor to an impressive audience of 10.5million last night.

Gary was joined by N-Dubz' singer Tulisa Contostavlos, former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh on the new-look team.

However, the figures were down on last year, when 11.1million that tuned in to watch Simon Cowell lead the panel on its opening night.

Other party guests included Aussie actress and former Neighbours star Holly Valance, who is being lined up for Strictly Come Dancing, Louise Redknapp and Kate Moss's ex Jefferson Hack.
