Noel Gallagher backs Manchester Evening News App

The Manchester Evening News got some unexpected backing this week from Noel Gallagher.
The former Oasis man, admitted that while he wasn’t a big fan of technology, his favourite App was the MEN's.

“Other regional newspapers are available – but they’re not as good.”

He’s currently on promotional duties for his new band, High Flying Birds, and that’s included a stint on BBC Radio 2. He sat in for Dermot O’Leary last Saturday.

This, however, was probably one of his least controversial pronouncements of the week. He also said that the work of Shakespeare was: “f*!@ing gibberish. I can appreciate the action and the way they learned all those lines but... What the f*!@ was going on?”

That's from the songwriter behind the lyrics:

“Flash your pen at the song that I’m singing
Touchdown bass living on the run
Make no sweat at the hole that you’re digging.”

Should you still be sitting on the face on the Shakespeare/Oasis duel, you can read more on John Robb’s Manchester-based e-zine, Louder Than War.
